Cordaware bestinformed Enterprise Edition
bestinformed Enterprise Edition is ideal for companies with the need to provide information for client groups from different locations and independent of department.
An overview of bestinformed Enterprise Edition:
1. All functions of bestinformed Professional and Basic
2. Flexible administration rights
Basically, anybody with administrative access to bestinformed can use all functions and observe all actions. With the Enterprise Edition, Powerusers can be set up with individual authorizations. This way, bestinformed can be set up to suit individual departments.
Basic functions for Powerusers:
• Distribute information
• Run scripts
• Conduct surveys
The administrator decides on the authorizations and recipient groups for each Poweruser.
3. Dynamic information distributing
Addressing of users based on client properties.
Especially in cases of emergency or incident management, it can be necessary, that you want to send a ticker message to a group of users, who are not defined as a classical usergroup (consisting of username, computername and IP Address) but temporarily have common properties.
A group of users, which is defined as a group of users with common properties is called a "Dynamic Group", or "Dynamic Channel".
Dynamic Cannels are a very powerful tool for optimizing your incident and problem management, because you can accurately inform the correct target group of the incident, without the need for "collecting" the affected users from various groups.
4. Multiclient instances
At bestinformed Enterprise Edition, it is possible to send messages from several servers to one desktop.
This may be necessary, when, for example, a company wants to send messages to all clients from a central location in the main office and addition ally wants to keep an independent server in a certain branch office.
In this case, two simultaneous clients are started on the client computer, which can be connected to different Infoservers.
5. Reminder
Powerusers can use bestinformed as a reminder function. One major advantage of using bestinformed as a reminder is that it's user specific. This way, the employee is notified regardless of which computer he has logged on to currently.
6. Central and individual templates
In case of a computer problem, for example, distributing information has to happen very quickly. For this reason, bestinformed offers the possibility of predefined templates. These ready-made text building blocks can quickly be supplemented with editable variables.
Administrators can assign inalterable templates to the Powerusers. Independently of these, the Powerusers can also create their own templates.
7. Infoserver Grid
For increasing the performance and reliability in large and very large networks, several Infoservers can be merged into an Infoserver Grid. When logging on to the Infoserver, all Infoclients will be distributed evenly among the Infoservers in the Grid. Thus, in very large networks the optimal performance is guaranteed.
8. New Poweruser hierarchy
In Cordaware bestinformed® version 4, the user-hierarchy was extended by one level. In addition to the Admin and Powerusers levels, now the Subadmin level is available. Subadmins are extended Powerusers, which can create and manage their own Powerusers and recipient-groups.
Summarized, the following ranking system results:
The level "Read Only" is used for e.g. sending a link to the current Shared Whiteboard to any user.
9. Sending Shared Whiteboard as link
In certain cases, e.g. in the IT Service Management, it is necessary to provide an updated overview of information to users or other agents. In bestinformed version 4, this is realized by publishing the Shared Whiteboard as a link in the ticker.
By registering as "Read Only" Poweruser, the Shared Whiteboard can be made publicly accessible.
